Plan to join us this Sunday, May 26 at 10:30 A.M. for a very special morning of worship and music as we welcome the YOUTH CHOIR OF OAK GROVE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH in Atlanta, GA. The Youth Choir, comprised of students in grades 6-12, has a tradition of excellence. This ensemble offers students the opportunity to share Christ through both Music and Missions. This choir is an integral part of the Music Ministry at Oak Grove United Methodist Church. Their yearly “Music Mission Tour” enables these young people to travel extensively to all corners of the United States. Oak Grove Methodist Church was founded in 1836 and is a 3000 member “neighborhood” church. The church seeks to create welcoming communities where all of God’s children experience acceptance, affirmation, opportunity and life transformation. Edgar Scruggs is Director of Traditional Music at Oak Grove.
WRAPPED IN LOVE DEDICATES QUILTS On Mother’s Day, May 12, our Wrapped in Love sewing/quilting ministry will present their handwork to be dedicated in the morning service. Throughout the year this group of seamstresses meets weekly to craft colorful small quilts distributed through the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach. The guest preacher of the day will be the Rev. Emese Asztalos, Pastor of the Putnam Memorial Hungarian Presbyterian Church, A Hungarian Community, that meets in our facility. We hope you’ll join us!

This intimate time of worship is designed for those seeking a midweek spiritual discipline or who don’t wish to drive after dark. Join us TOMORROW, April 3 as we focus on “Do Not Worry” - Matthew 6:25-34 This service is led by Pastor Anderson and accompanied by Gordon Russell. Palm/Passion Sunday--April 13, 10:30 a.m. The Lenten season winds down in a service which opens with the joyous commemoration of Jesus’ Triumphal Entry into Jerusalem and moves forward to a more somber reflection of his Passion and death on the cross. A festive procession with palms will lead to Pastor Bill’s sermon, “Follow Me.” Guest pianist Kelly White joins Rusty Baker in a four-hands, single-keyboard duet, and Jack White brings a special message for the children. The Church Life and Fellowship Ministry Team hosts a reception in Edris Hall following the service. Maundy Thursday Communion--April 17, 7:00 p.m. “Remember Me” is the theme of this service as we recall the poignancy of the Upper Room where Jesus celebrated his final Passover with his disciples. Pastors Bill and Eme will share in celebrating the Lord’s Supper, served by intinction. Guest soloist Dennis Bucher complements the occasion with his vocal artistry. With Good Friday looming on the immediate horizon, the service concludes in somber silence. Resurrection of Our Lord (Easter)--April 20, 10:30 a.m. Join us for an all-stops-out celebration of our Savior’s victory over sin and death as we gather for morning worship on Easter Day. Members of the Daytona Solisti Chamber Orchestra and soloists Csilla Csagoly, Earnest Murphy and Jeanne Keiper contribute their musical gifts to this glorious service. Pastor Anderson’s sermon, “Rise with Me” promises to inspire hope in the hearers. Afterward, children will revel in the Easter egg hunt on the front lawn. Don’t miss this high point of the Christian year! You are encouraged to invite friends, neighbors and family members to any and all of the above services. We always have room for more!
